Wren Cottage is a gorgeous holiday property nestled in a quiet corner of Stratford-upon-Avon’s Old Town quarter, ideally situated for exploring the many attractions of this historic destination and the surrounding area. 


From the moment you step through the door, you can relax and enjoy the inviting ambience of this tucked-away bolthole.

Lovingly renovated and furnished by the owner in 2022, Wren Cottage offers modern living in Old Town.  There is an airy, light-filled living room with an inviting Loaf chaise sofa and local artworks on the walls, a small but perfectly equipped contemporary kitchen catering for all your needs, and a sleek shower room with a large walk-in rainfall shower. 


The two bedrooms, one king-size with a walk-in wardrobe and one small double, are tastefully decorated in neutral tones and have sumptuous beds with quality Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels supplied. 


To the rear of the property is a courtyard garden with pretty planting and patio furniture, and a private off-road parking space for one car.

The cottage is a very short level walk from the River Avon and Holy Trinity Church, the final resting place of William Shakespeare, and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the charming medieval streets of the town centre are just beyond. After a day of sightseeing and shopping, retreat to your own peaceful hideaway where you can linger over a chilled drink in the pretty and secluded courtyard garden.

      Yes, short breaks are available to book throughout the year. The minimum length of stay is 3 nights, with prices from £435 fully inclusive. Contact us with your dates for availability and pricing.


      Yes, there is private off-road parking for one car. There is additional roadside parking subject to time limits and restrictions.


      Yes, quality Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels are provided within the cost of your stay. All you need to bring is yourselves.


      Stratford-upon-Avon is blessed with many supermarkets and food outlets. Within a 10 to 15-minute walk, there is an M&S Food Hall, Tesco Express and Sainsbury's. There are several bakeries, a traditional butcher's and an excellent independent wine merchant in town (Vin Neuf). Within a short drive you will find Waitrose, Tesco, Morrisons, Aldi and Lidl. The market on Friday has an excellent fishmonger, a cheese specialist and a superb independent coffee supplier (Monsoon Estates) as well as locally made fudge.


      Yes, there are plenty in town to cater for all tastes and budgets. Our welcome pack will list many of our nearby favourite pubs and restaurants. If you want to bump into an actor or two, The Dirty Duck is a very short walk away (about 5 to 10 minutes) and is halfway between Wren Cottage and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.


      Yes, the northern Cotswolds are right on our doorstep. You can reach Chipping Campden, Broadway, and Stow-on-the-Wold in around 20–35 minutes, with scenic drives through rolling countryside along the way. It’s the perfect location for day trips and leisurely exploration.


      Yes, Stratford-upon-Avon train station offers regular services to Leamington Spa, Birmingham, and London Marylebone. Local taxis and car hire options are also available in Stratford, and we’re happy to advise on the most convenient routes. However, if you want to explore further afield, we recommend having a car to make the most of your stay, as the best experiences — from charming Cotswold villages to hidden gardens — are often reached by road.

      For those coming from a bit further away, Birmingham Airport is 25 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon.
